Canadian Edition of Stop Smoking Bestseller Launched

Canada September 1, 2004 -- Allen Carr, who operate quit smoking clinics throughout Canada, announced the launch of the Canadian edition of the bestselling title Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking today.

Since 1985 Easyway, as it is known, has sold over six million copies and has topped bestseller lists in nine countries. Over the New Year 2003/4 period, it was simultaneously the number one book on Amazon's UK, French and German websites.

Whilst not a literary masterpiece, Easyway is legendary among smokers for its simplicity, accessibility and its effectiveness. 285 Amazon customers have reviewed the book online, and all but seven gave it the maximum five-star rating.

"Unfortunately, for historical reasons, the book has never been marketed in Canada.", says Damian O'Hara, who heads up Carr's Canadian operations. "Despite this fact and with extremely limited distribution through a handful of stores, it has still sold around 70,000 copies over the past five years. We felt that it was time to update and Canadian-ise the text, and to make the book much more widely available." he said.

The Canadian edtion of Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking will be available in all good Canadian bookstores from September 10th 2004.
